Senior Instrument And Control Engineer (UAE – Sharjah) Wood is recruiting a Senior Instrument and Control Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit supporting a major onshore brownfield project in Sharjah, UAE. The role is full‑time and office‑based. Key Responsibilities Provide instrument and control discipline support to the business for the onshore brownfield project. Develop and deliver technical presentations and training programmes for graduates and colleagues. Ensure discipline compliance with relevant codes, standards and regulatory framework. Support scope definition and execution, including technical bid evaluation, vendor package management and procurement of equipment and materials. Review and check the work of design team, supervise delegated tasks and manage third‑party suppliers. Assist in the preparation of CTRs, man‑hour estimates and cost control. Attend project meetings and liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues. Process Ownership & Leadership Demonstrate expertise in instrument engineering design and continuous professional development. Provide discipline input to scope definition and project execution. Coach and mentor junior colleagues; support training programmes. Represent discipline in project meetings and liaise with project engineering teams. Minimum 10 years of relevant oil & gas industry experience with onshore brownfield and FEED projects. In‑depth knowledge of instrument engineering design, codes and standards. Experience with field instrument & valves (safety, shutdown and control), ICSS (PCS, SIS, FGS) and Emerson Delta V system. Experience in EPC, HAZOP, HAZID and SIL application. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Proficiency with SPI (INtools), flow meter and control valve sizing software (InstruCalc, Fisher Valve Specification, etc.) and MS Office.
