About the job Middle Officer | Trade Execution Officer | Derivatives Trading | Jobs in Dubai Location: Dubai, United Arab EmiratesIndustry: Commodity Trading / DerivativesJob Type: Full-TimeReports To: Head of Trading Operations / Risk Manager Job Description: A prominent commodity trading firm in Dubai is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to support their Derivatives Trading Desk . This role is responsible for managing derivative exposures, ensuring accurate trade capture, and producing daily P&L and exposure reports . The successful candidate will work closely with traders, risk managers, and back-office teams to ensure operational accuracy, valuation integrity, and risk compliance. Key Responsibilities: Work directly with derivatives traders to ensure accurate trade input, updates, and lifecycle management . Manage trade validation and reconciliation of derivative transactions across multiple products and strategies . P&L & Exposure Reporting Prepare and deliver daily P&L reports and exposure updates , identifying key drivers behind P&L movements. Provide actionable insights and variance analysis to traders and senior management. Valuation & Curve Management Develop, maintain, and apply valuation models and forward curves for derivative instruments. Ensure daily pricing reflects accurate market values and complies with internal policies. Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and back-testing of derivative positions. Collaborate with the Quantitative Risk team to provide data and analysis for daily risk reports. Month-End Closing & Compliance Lead month-end processes , ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with deadlines. Ensure data integrity and support audit and compliance checks when required. Break Resolution & Operations Oversight Liaise with the Back Office to investigate and resolve trade breaks and booking discrepancies. Support the implementation of best practices in trade lifecycle management. Process Optimization & System Enhancements Work with IT/ETRM teams to enhance tools, automate workflows, and streamline middle office processes. Identify opportunities for efficiency and operational risk reduction . Candidate Requirements: Education & Certification Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field . Experience Minimum 3 to4 years of experience in Middle Office, Product Control, or Risk Management in an energy trading environment . Familiarity with ETRM systems, derivative products, and commodity trading workflows . Technical Knowledge Knowledge of VBA and SQL is a plus. Solid understanding of paper contracts (swaps, futures) and oil options valuation . Familiarity with Crude, LPG, Naphtha, Gasoline, Middle Distillates, and Fuel Oil markets. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities . Excellent communication skills to work across trading, risk, and operations teams.
