Our client is a government organization, a public joint stock company owned by the UAE Federal Government and its founders.

We are currently looking for a Senior Risk Underwriter for their team in Dubai.

The hired resource will Support the management of the Risk Underwriting department for the Trade Credit Insurance (TCI) business unit, ensuring holistic risk assessments are taken into account in valuing the risk associated with offering TCI products and services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ECI Risk underwriting department by proactive management of risk assessment, ECI exposure and monitoring activities.
  • Apply the risk underwriting strategy aiming at supporting ECIs mandate and development and underwriting capabilities: proactive collection of information, workflow with information providers, risk analysts allocation/supervision, exposure monitoring strategy and internationalization of the operations of ECI to better manage risk.
  • Develop a network of Information Experts (Banks, Law firms, Economists, Industry leaders and Credit managers) to secure market knowledge and added value for ECI and its customers.
  • Interact with policy holders and stakeholders for the purpose of enhancing the overall customer experience and the underwriting process.
  • Interact with third parties and partners with whom ECI has agreements and MOUs in order gather information and strengthen the risk assessment process of ECI.
  • Manage the KPIs for the daily/monthly/annual targets Manage the daily tasks of risk underwriting in order to support other commercial functions.
  • Implement corporate standards, processes and procedures in line with ECIs TOM to ensure effective risk management and interaction with other business units.
  • Participate in the daily management of tasks and proactive collection of information to support decisions and manage response time.
  • Conduct and manage regular meetings with stakeholders in order to gather and share feedback and enhance the workflow and deliverables.
  • Responsible for monitoring the development of the portfolio and modification of buyer underwriting risk management approach in the assessment of risks.

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Economics or Accounting: Masters degree

preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in the field of Finance / Risk assessment / Credit review
  • Sound financial analysis skills
  • Knowledge of political/commercial risk underwriting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with self-motivation
  • Ability to work with MS office applications
  • Ability to write and speak English fluently is essential
  • Being fluent in Arabic is a plus
