Plumbing Draftmen

JOB TITLE:  PLUMBING DRAFTSMAN

We are seeking a talented Plumbing Draftsman to join our MEP contracting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of plumbing and firefighting systems for a variety of projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of high-profile construction ventures across various sectors.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES:

1. Develop detailed plumbing and firefighting drawings, layouts, and schematics based on project requirements, codes, and standards.

2. Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software to create accurate 2D and 3D models of plumbing systems.

3. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of plumbing designs with overall MEP systems.

4. Generate shop drawings, bill of quantities (BOQ), and material take-offs for procurement and construction purposes.

5. Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and verify compliance with design specifications during the construction phase.

6. Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify coordination issues and propose solutions.

7. Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to ensure timely delivery of drawings and adherence to project schedules.

8. Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations related to plumbing and firefighting systems.

9. Assist in value engineering initiatives to optimize plumbing designs for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

10. Provide technical support and assistance to junior draftsmen as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

2. Minimum 3 year experience as a Plumbing Draftsman in MEP contracting or construction industry.

3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software.

4. Strong knowledge of plumbing and firefighting codes, standards, and practices.

5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

7. Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.

8. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) is preferred.

9. Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
