Senior Planning Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for the preparation of the Project Planning Package and project Control/monitoring & and updates to ensure the timely execution of construction projects in accordance with client requirements. The Senior Planning Engineer will work closely with the Planning Team, project managers, and other project team members to monitor progress, identify potential issues and risks, and develop corrective actions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Tender Stage:

1. Assist in the Preparation of Tender Programmes as per the Tender Documents requirement.

Pre-Construction Stage:

1. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for the preparation of detailed programmes as per Contract requirements.

2. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to calculate the manpower requirements (trade-wise) as per the defined productivity.

3. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for the preparation of a weight system.

4. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for loading the manpower, major quantities, Weightage, and cost over the activities of the Programme of work (as required).

5. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for estimating the project's cash flow.

6. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for preparation of the project's measurement tools like S-curve, Tabular reports, histograms, and other KPIs.

7. Ensure that QHSE requirements are integrated into the Programmes.

Construction Stage:

8. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for the preparation of the Internal Programme of Works (if required).

9. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for issuing the subcontractor's programmes.

10. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for preparing the weekly/monthly reports.

11. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for preparing the internal Planning reports.

12. Highlighting the Critical/ Longest Path to Planning Director/ Project Planning Manager on a Weekly Basis before issuance of the Weekly/ Monthly report.

13. Highlighting the Area of Concern to the Planning Director/ Project Planning Manager on Weekly Basis before issuance of the Weekly/ Monthly report.

14. forecasting future problems and informing the Planning Director/ Project Planning Manager and the Project Director/ Manager to take the necessary actions.

15. Monitor the manpower & and equipment and make sure that they are correct as per Project/ Site conditions.

16. Updating the project's cash flow.

17. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for preparation of Planning-related correspondences to Client/ Engineer/ Sub-consultant/ Subcontractors/ and other parties.

18. Attending the required meetings.

19. Attending the required Audits.

20. Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager for the Preparation of EoT claims.

21. Evaluating the Subcontractors' EOTs in coordination with the Planning Manager

Authorities

· Send correspondences to all Senior Staff regarding all planning-related issues.

· Send correspondences to all Subcontractors regarding all planning-related issues.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· BS'c Engineering (Civil or Architect)

· Minimum 9 years of experience.

· Minimum 5 Years of Gulf Experience.

· Fluent in English (reading- writing- speaking).

· Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 software and other project management tools.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Knowledge of engineering and civil engineering principles.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

· Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks and issues.
