Division Overview
Dry Cargo chartering is a varied and complex market involving more than three billion tonnes of cargo each year. Our experienced team based in 15 countries acts as a vital link between charterers and shipowners who need to transport the goods required by a growing global population. We are experienced in spot chartering for individual voyages, Contracts of Affreightment (COAs) on behalf of major commodity and power companies and the timecharter of vessels for short or long-term charter cover, covering all sizes of vessels from Capesize to Handysize.

Role Summary
We are seeking experienced Brokers to join our Dry Cargo team in Dubai. The ideal candidates should have a successful Broking background within Dry Cargo, be driven and focused, and a strong relationship builder. Experience of handymax, supramax and/or panamax is preferred.

What you will be doing
• Drive revenue and develop client base.
• Understand the business strategy for the division and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the Dry Cargo market space.
• Perform market analysis and provide market insight and trade ideas to clients.
• Daily price discovery, dissemination and matching.
• Assist with creating and writing daily market reports.
• Provide market insights to clients.
• Identify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationships.
• To fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

What we are looking for

Key Attributes
• Successful track record of Broking within Dry Cargo and Steel Cargo.
• Experience of handymax, supramax and/or panamax.
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Personable and engaging, able to build strong relationships.
• Strong commercial judgement with excellent negotiation skills.
• Driven, self-motivated and client focused.
• Strong numeracy skills and excellent presentation skills.
• Confident and able to work well under pressure.

• Good MS office skills.

• Fluent in Chinese/Mandarin.

Special Job Requirements
• Travel and attending client social events where required (subject to COVID)
