Job Description
A Librarian is responsible for managing a library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. They help library users locate resources, provide assistance with research, and develop programs and services to meet the needs of the community. Librarians also ensure that the library operates efficiently by overseeing cataloging, circulation, and maintenance activities. They play an essential role in promoting literacy and lifelong learning in their communities.
Responsibilities
• Assist library users in locating and accessing resources.
• Help users with research inquiries and provide guidance on search strategies.
• Develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of library patrons.
• Select and acquire materials to build and expand the library's collection.
• Catalog and classify materials using accepted library standards and metadata.
• Manage library operations, including circulation, interlibrary loan, and reserves.
• Train library staff and volunteers on library procedures and technologies.
• Promote library resources and services through outreach initiatives and marketing efforts.
Requirements
• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program.
• Valid state dental license to practice as an orthodontist.
• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and orthodontic principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
