QBE Insurance, Middle East is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority and is licensed to carry on Financial Services with or for professional clients.Your new roleSupport the development of the annual business plan for the portfolio and ensure delivery of the planUnderwrite complex insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives, including: | negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business | Compliance of production and issue of contract certainty documentation)| ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines | ensuring contribution to the business plan and objectives | Support credit control in payment collectionApply any reinsurance requirements to minimize risk and to deliver business plan objectivesAct as a technical expert to support the identification of issues and opportunities within area of expertiseContinually develop expertise and technical knowledge through identifying and implementing appropriate learning and development activitiesContribute and influence in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress toward business objectivesDemonstrate understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycle to drive and enhance business performanceContribute and participate in all meetings, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practicePositively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverageAbout youAt least 3 years of Casualty underwriting experienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong negotiating skills and networking skillsFluent English communication skills (oral and written)Strong organizational and prioritization skillsStrong analytical skillsStrong attention to detailExtensive knowledge of relevant market conditions of casualty class/portfoliosThorough understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledgeIntermediate level understanding of relevant software, including Excel and other departmental software packagesStrong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirementsAll employees are expected to adhere to QBE's Code of Ethics and Conduct and apply sound risk management practicesWhy QBE?At QBE, we want our people to feel rewarded and inspired to perform at their best.
