WSP is looking for an Executive Director - Clients & Strategy, whose role is to offer comprehensive strategic leadership in the following key areas:
To provide Business Wide Strategic Leadership to ensure that we maintain our focus on bringing the best that WSP has to offer to the best clients throughout the Middle East region.
Support the one WSP approach by driving a collaborative culture to work winning and project delivery, both within the Middle East region and globally.
As required provide support to the Middle East business in augmenting our services with a collaborative approach with the wider WSP regions and external partners.
Be a Champion for promoting the WSP brand externally.

Your new role, what's involved?Middle East Strategic Direction: To own the development and review of the Middle East Business Strategy which also identifies cross business unit opportunities and where appropriate UK / EMEA / Global strategic collaboration.Strategic Development by Business Unit: To work with the business unit Managing Directors & Leadership Teams to ensure that we have a robust market strategy that is diverse and evolving ahead of market conditions. To ensure that the business unit strategies have clear targets and ownership and are reviewed as part of the quarterly business forecast reviews.UK EMEA Strategic Collaboration: To lead the efforts in developing cross regional strategic models for services & sectors which have been identified as areas for future growth.Focus on new business areas & expertise: To provide immediate support to market entry strategies for new work streams or business units.Existing & New Clients: To ensure the Middle East Business has strategic alignment with the marketplace, acknowledges existing clients and potential new clients. Working with the CEO and MDs, to identify new clients and strategic opportunities. Drive client engagement meetings and sessions with strategic clients along with the CEO.Targeted relationship development: To work with and support the business unit Managing Directors, their Client Directors and their leadership teams to ensure we have a robust approach to client meetings and remain market facing.Global & Business Unit Collaboration: To lead collaboration opportunities with clients to ensure we present the very best of WSP. This will include cross business unit collaboration or Global collaboration.Sharing Best Practice: To share best practice with other business unit Client Directors at the fortnightly Client Director call. The aim being to remain joined up and collaborative.Training: To provide a client care training programme across all Middle East Business Units with a single approach, language set and common understanding of what we do.Collaboration on Prospect Portfolio: To ensure we identify prospects for collaboration with the key internal stakeholders to ensure WSP puts its very best foot forward.Strategic Bids: Prospect Leader for high value, cross business unit bids of strategic importanceCollaboration Technical inputs: To provide support to the technical leads, where requested by the BU MDs, to ensure we produce winning bids. This will include clarity on scope, collective GO NO GO and corresponding intercompany trading agreements in place.Project Temperature Checks: Drive quarterly temperature checks of WSP performance, with the Business Unit Managing Directors and Client Directors, on strategically important projects (projects to be agreed with BU MDs)Client Feedback: Feedback to the BU MDs and our project teams on areas of success / opportunities for improvement. Ensure that this is captured in the client plan and saved down in an appropriate location.Develop relationships with strategically important clients to enable WSP to sell the one WSP approach.Ensure that all prospects comply with the Middle East and Global Delegation of Authority (DOA).Participate in the Go-No Go process and ensure we are bidding strategically and to win.Ownership of the prospect registers ensures the information is regularly updated and can be used as an accurate source of information.Supports cross-selling across disciplines and Business units.Acts as key client owner.We'd love to hear from you if you have:GeneralProven track record of working with and leading a diversified team.A people person who is able to build & retain relationships.Collaborative and sharing attitude towards work winning.Demonstrable client relationships that provide a pipeline of opportunitySpecificStrategy: ability to translate strategy into targets and actionsFocus: ability to remain focused on the right clients in the right geographyWork Winning: ability to lead complex bids when needed and develop win themes.Project Leadership – ability to support on complex projects as required.Client Development and ManagementWhat's in it for you?What if we can have work-life balance?
