To be successful, you must have a marine science related bachelor’s degree (marine biology, marine science, marine ecology, or similar) as a minimum. For the HVAC Design Engineer role , experience of 5 years or more is required
DelegationIs proactive in identifying a decrease in workload within own team and informs Supervisor when additional projects are needed to maintain utilisation.

ExecutionEnsures graduate team members are adhering to delivery standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own industry. Uses discretion within set boundaries (operating procedures, processes, standards) to execute own tasks within a narrower job area to achieve defined deadlines / targets in the most effective and efficient way. Is required to coordinate activities with peers in same discipline to meet deadlines and achieve set targets in the most effective and efficient way.
Problem SolvingApplies knowledge and skill to solve problems based on practice and precedent; typically resolves standard or routine problems using existing solutions and methodologies with limited supervision.Applies existing knowledge and experience to solve more routine technical problems independently.
Project ScopeMay be called upon to be responsible for smaller or routine projects (as defined in QA100) in the role of Project Manager.

People ManagementMay provide informal guidance to graduates or interns (not a job requirement). Is responsible for managing personal contribution only within own team with guidance from supervisor or senior team member.
CommunicationCommunicates on progress of delegated project assignment (a portion of the overall project) to others in the team who are dependent on their deliverable / contribution to proactively raise issues that may affect completion of the overall project in a timely manner; or communicates progress on specific tasks, and reports on issues that may arise that could cause delays / obstacles in a timely manner.
Direction ReceivedDecisions and problem-solving are guided by operating policies, processes and procedures for the Region; receives guidance from Business Group Leader and Supervisor; or decisions are guided by the project requirements; receives guidance from Supervisor and Project Director or Project Manager. Plus, receives supervision and general review of deliverables.
GHD Behavioural Competencies
Educational Background: A bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.Professional experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing HVAC for various applications and a Proven track record of successfully completed HVAC engineering projects.Proficiency in HVAC modeling software and tools including Revit, Autocad & HAP.Experienced in delivering HVAC design. Producing ventilation system design deliverables, i.e., Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFD’s), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating / Cooling / Fan Sizing) Control Philosophy.In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, pipe flow, pump selection, and chilled water system design.Knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to HVAC engineering.Experience ensuring projects comply with relevant regulations and permitting requirements.Report writing expertise.Commercially Aware: Demonstrates working knowledge of external forces impacting GHD; financial, market, economic, legal and regulatory environments and how GHD responds to them commercially.Agile Learner: Actively learns through experimentation and experience and seeks ways to grow and to be challenged by new and novel conditions.Client Centric: Anticipates and prioritizes client needs and takes action to provide high-quality client experience.Enabler of Self and Others: Demonstrates trust by bringing the best of self, valuing others contributions, and engendering confidence and trust with others.
