Energy and Transportation (E&T) Procurement provides Caterpillar with a sustainable competitive advantage by selecting, managing, developing, and collaborating with a worldwide supply base. With over $5 Billion of annual material purchases across 40+ Global facilities, placing this spend with the very best external suppliers is vital to the performance of the organization. Job Summary
This role is primarily responsible for Deployment, Supplier Enablement and Catalog Support in the EAME Region for Caterpillar Indirect Procurement systems supported by the Digital Excellence Team which Includes:
Primary Solutions:
Guided Buy – GEP SMART
NextGen – Coupa
Secondary Solutions:
Third Party Labor – IQ Navigator / Beeline
My Caterpillar Travel Expense (MCTE) – SAP Concur
Expense and Procurement Card Programs
What You Will Do:
This position will help support the internal Indirect Procurement organization as well as key stakeholders across the enterprise.
People: Works effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers at all levels.
Leadership: No direct reports. Will demonstrate advanced project management skills required to collect, compile, assimilate, communicate, and maintain information as required. Incumbent will assess and recommend solutions. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization.
Strategy: Help customers with deployment, testing, communication, supplier enablement, catalog support, master data collection, training and hypercare related activities
What You Have:
Experience:
Role relevant experience within IT Systems, including database and middleware technologies, as well as experience Cloud Based ERP Deployments
Problem Solving:
Trains others in the process of eliciting alternatives and assessing their impact. Gains agreement on the problem-solving process, risk assessment, decision points, and criteria. Orchestrates the resolution of high-impact and cross-functional problems.
Technology Advising:
Collaborates with an extended professional technology network to help clients effectively identify, plan for and accomplish technology objectives. Leverages formal certifications in mastery of multiple areas of technology in demonstrating credibility for client consulting.
Application Design, Architecture:
Contributes to the establishment and implementation of best practices for application design.
Requirements Analysis
: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
System and Technology Integration:
Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms. Demonstrates extensive experience with system and technology integration.
System Testing:
Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle. Advocates appropriate levels of quality by resolution of important defects. Directs the identification, investigation, reporting and follow-up with design teams for all issues raised during the testing process. Solicits and evaluates feedback from business process owners during pilot and parallel testing.
Technical Troubleshooting:
Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on software, application or operation. Emphasizes the business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution so that problems can be avoided in the future.
Basic Requirements:
4-year college or university degree with 5 plus years of job-related experience
5 plus years’ experience in database and middleware technologies
Experience with Cloud based ERP system
Experience in Data Analytics and Reporting
Should have great attitude to learn and implement new technologies
Requires effective communications skills – both oral and written
Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and should have collaborative work style
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
Experience using Coupa or GEP procurement platform is preferred
Knowledge of end-to-end Source-to-Pay business process
Preferred that the incumbent is familiar with basic procurement and quality principles, procedures, and techniques
Additional Information
Up to 30% Travel
