Our client, a boutique multi award winning progressive architectural practice is looking to appoint a top calibre qualified and locally registered Senior Structural Engineer to join their team and take on a leadership role across multiple projects.Project DetailsYou will be office-based with occasional travel may be requiredOverall Purpose of the roleThe Senior Structural Engineer role is fulfilled when an experienced Structural Engineer independently runs project management tasks regardless of size.The role takes on more Project management responsibilities such as project planning, scheduling, stakeholder management, project control, cost management, procurement, risk management, mitigation and reporting.Key ObjectivesManaging the planning and delivery of projectsProject management tasksMonitoring & ReportingResponsibilities And DutiesProduces detailed designs and documentation for the implementation of all projectsPrepare calculations required for the design of all projectsPrepare specifications, proposals, and other tender documentationContribute to the development of the structures TeamEstablish and develop relationships with international clients in the local marketPersonal interest and training to stay abreast of structural design areas of interest for themselves and the strategic areas of practiceStrong communication skills both written and spoken – ability to articulate complex information in a simple and clear mannerExperience in dealing with local authorities in the UAEInforms seniors of progress, problems and submits work for reviewClearly and interestingly presents project updates internally, supports in client presentations.Assigns and delivers within project deadlines with occasional guidanceUses the company file naming and information filing standards and follow quality standards in overall work. Reviews and challenges information received from sub-consultants and third parties to ensure quality compliance. Maintains an updated and accurate project plan.Ensures the team performs QA/QC checks of project / package before presenting for review/releasingStrong understanding of building construction, codes and regulations, and obligations of engineer of record.Estimates resources required and matches personnel effectively with the task requirements. Ensure that the risk register is reviewed regularly at team meetings and updated.
