Senior Programme Associate (Governance in Philanthropy Programme)The Pearl Initiative (PI) is looking for a Senior Programme Associate to join its growing team and fast-paced environment. As part of the Programmes team, the Senior Programme Associate will support in designing and delivering programmes that promote and strengthen corporate governance across the Gulf region’s private sector. This role involves conducting research, analysing data, report writing, providing project management support and managing relationships with stakeholders to support PI’s Governance in Philanthropy Programme.Who PI is looking forWe are seeking a highly motivated and organised Senior Programme Associate to help implement a customised programme that promotes a culture of accountability, transparency, and strategic giving across philanthropy in the Gulf Region. As the Senior Programme Associate, you will support in designing, developing, and implementing the programme across four key areas: research, convenings, capacity building, and executive education.In 2021, the organisation launched its updated strategy, PI Vision 2025, with bold ambitions for expansion. Development and ManagementLead the concept design and development, planning, proposal preparation, execution, and delivery of collaborative action programmes across the Gulf regionSupport the Programme Manager in programme management, aligning with PI's annual work plan and programme requirementsCoordinate and oversee programme activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and objectivesSupport the Programme Manager and Business Services with budgeting and negotiation on relevant projectsContribute to the development of strategic programme plans and initiatives aligned with the organisation’s wider mission and visionResearch philanthropic trends, best practices, and emerging issues to inform programme designAssist in the development of grant and project proposal documents, financials, and work plansMonitor programme implementation, identify challenges, and propose solutions for continuous improvementGrant Management and ReportingSupport with the drafting, reviewing, and reporting of programme-related documentation, incl. post-event outcomes, press releases, and programme achievementsConduct monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of programme’s activities and deliverables including progress updates, programme performance, impact assessment, and KPIs for the programmeAssess programme impact to identify lessons learned, failures and opportunities for increased effectiveness, implementation, and reportingGenerate regular reports to update donors on our progress, including monthly updates and the annual expenditure responsibility reportKnowledge Sharing and LearningFacilitate the delivery of knowledge sharing convenings amongst programme stakeholders through workshops, conferences, and virtual resourcesConduct evaluations and assessments to capture programme results and stakeholder feedbackSupport with drafting and disseminating best practice resources, including case studies, guides, op-eds, research reports and templates (developing, writing, designing, proofreading, and finalising) published widely across the regionPrepare comprehensive, visually appealing and evidence-based reports that are well-structured, concise, and effectively communicate key findings, insights, and recommendationsStay updated on emerging trends, best practices and innovations in philanthropy to enhance the quality and relevance of the programme deliverablesStay updated on industry trends, best practices, and reporting standardsRelationship Building and CommunicationSupport the Programme Manager in and cultivate strong relationships with donors, partner organisations, and other stakeholders to enhance collaborationAssist in organising and facilitating meetings, and relevant networking events to further the programme’s mission, deliverables, and outreachManage relationships with key programme stakeholders such as creating invitations and delivering clear and effective communications with stakeholdersCollaborate with external stakeholders to identify synergies and foster effective partnershipsCollaborate with the communications team to develop compelling narratives for newsletters, annual reports, and board packs, etc., effectively communicating programme activitiesInternal Team and Organisational SupportAssist, collaborate, and closely engage daily with Programme Manager (direct reporting line), who oversees programme deliverables and grant managementSupport Programme Associate in assisting on administrative work that feeds into programme deliverablesCollaborate with cross-functional teams within PI to coordinate programme activities and ensure seamless integration with other organisational initiativesEnsure the database of programme partners and stakeholder is up to dateSupport the organisation with fundraising activities, including identifying potential donors and facilitating meetingsEssential Professional Qualifications, Experience and SkillsBachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics or other Social SciencesMinimum of 5 years’ experience in programme delivery & design, and/or executive level research and writing, with at least 3 years working in the Gulf regionSuperior written and verbal communication skills in English and ArabicExcellent networking, communications, presentation, persuading and community building skillsSelf-driven, motivated, resourceful, ability to anticipate and solve problems, persuasive and flexible in approach to workMust be able to demonstrate a knowledge and experience of corporate governance and philanthropy in the Gulf RegionUp-to-date knowledge of trends and norms within the private sector in the Gulf regionProficient in using Microsoft Office, CRM software, Canva, Zoom and survey programmesPersonal
