Responsibilities:
•Monitor day-to-day technical vessel Maintenance activities.
•Monitor (critical) spare parts onboard and raise any discrepancies in accordance with the minimum critical spare part lists.
•Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption, analysis reports and follow-up with the technical team onboard for analysis & and change-out requirements.
•Monitoring and maintaining shipboard PMS (Planned Maintenance System) for Hull and Machinery.
•Structuring, implementing, and monitoring the Company SMS within the area of assigned responsibilities.
•Implement and improve vessel maintenance, procurement, and inventory systems (NS5).
•Monitor and arrange statutory Classification surveys in liaison with the Operations Manager.
•Monitor Vessel certification overview and arrange the necessary services when required.
•Coordinate and assist with breakdowns and troubleshooting when required.
•The vessel superintendent is the main technical reference for the ship or group of ships assigned to him. She/he coordinates all the maintenance activities.
•Ensures that all documentation relevant to the ship's equipment is complete, updated and promptly available. Following up application of proper filing procedures of technical documentation and drawings.
•Keep the technical manager and Operations Manager informed with timely updates on the ship's condition and performance, based on his/her reports during ship inspections and all other technical documentation.
•Verifies and approves technical requisitions for spares, service, and consumables, issuing as well shoreside requests for materials and service, if needed. He/she co-operates with the Purchasing Staff for evaluation of suppliers, new product proposals, and development of new resources.
•Ensures that all relevant technical updates, information, and new regulations are transmitted to the ship's Management.
•Co-operates with the safety and crew manager for the evaluation and assignment of Engine personnel.
•Assist the Commercial Department with any technical queries on contract or vessel compliances.
•Participate in the Company Incident Response Plan as a team member.
•Assist the Operations Department with all technical inquiries such as A-Cad drawings for rig moves, vessel modifications, etc.
•Plans and prepares dry-dock specifications, following overall ship's repair and maintenance during works.
•Manage and create Projects such as (but not limited to) Re-activations, Repair and Special survey budgets.
•Coordinate and manage the vessel’s approved project budgets.
•Coordinate and manage Projects as Project Manager in charge when appointed. Qualifications and Education: Technical education (Engineering degree, Naval Architect, Chief Engineer License or Equivalent or Master Mariner)
Extensive technical know-how and experience in Marine Engineering
Managerial experience and ability to coordinate activities
Ability to teamwork and personnel management skills
Familiar with AutoCAD and able to utilize it when needed.
Familiar with NS5 Preventive maintenance system.#J-18808-Ljbffr
