As a provider of multi-disciplined technical services to the built environment, Atkins Middle East is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine, innovation, imagination and best practice.Due to our continuing expansion we now require an experienced site electrical engineer to work on a variety of construction projects.Working in a multidiscipline team of designers and engineers providing a comprehensive service to our clients, this is a great opportunity to gain experience within an internationally renowned consultant, affording the opportunity to work on large and small scale multidiscipline projects, in the UAE and potentially the rest of the Middle East region.PurposeTo review and approve contractor submittals, resolve technical issues arising and ensure compliance with contract requirements.Responsibilities• Responsible for review and approval of shop drawings• Responsible for review and approval of material submittals• Inspection of electrical works in progress• Ensuring compliance with specifications and contract drawings• Liaison with contractor• Witnessing of testing and verification of electrical systems commissioning• Responsibility for maintenance of quality standards in electrical works executed by contractorFunctional Relationships• Resident Engineer• Site Operations Manager• Architectural Team• Project Management Team• Structures Team• Infrastructure Team• Building Services Team• Atkins' Clients
Requirements• Degree qualified- minimum requirement of BE (Electrical)• Minimum of 10 years experience of electrical engineering• Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive• Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team• Understanding of British, American and International design standards• Reasonable knowledge of AutoCAD, and MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint• Good communication skills in written and spoken English essential• Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential• Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleaguesRewards & Benefits• A competitive salary will be offered to the right candidate• Accommodation allowance• Transportation allowance• 30 calendar days annual leave• Medical and life insurance cover• Company gratuity scheme• Discretionary bonus scheme• Annual return airfare to point of origin
