Put your inspection expertise to work on complex projects. Parsons is now hiring a Material Inspector for our rapidly expanding team.What You'll Be Doing
Conduct inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications:
Demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, bridges etc.)Construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvementsDrainage work, traffic control, compliance with SWPPP requirementsInstallation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering and street lightingIrrigation and planting, roadway and overhead sign removal and installationInstallation of temporary and permanent signs and delineationInstallation of mechanical equipmentBuilding and facility construction and associated site development
Taking project photographs on a daily basis and filing them.In AdditionAdditional responsibilities include:
Maintaining office files related to the project, quantity calculations and writing daily diaries.Preparing daily reports and other documentation as required by the contract.Verifying that only approved materials are incorporated in the work.Performing labor compliance interviews and maintaining as-built plans.Providing technical guidance to lower-level inspectors.Coordinating work of subconsultants for surveying and material testing.Participating in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.Reporting on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work.
Required SkillsSkills required for the role:
At least 3 Years Diploma/Associate Degree in Civil Engineering / Geology or related technical discipline.Minimum 7 years of related experience on road works, bridges, and infrastructure projects.Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes.Must have Dubai Central Laboratory Approval.
