Detailed Job Description

• Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods from suppliers to distribution centers or end customers.
• Utilize the available technologies to plan, optimize, and track freight movements.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with shipping regulations and industry standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service level agreements to optimize costs and service quality
• Evaluate carrier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs documents, and other required paperwork.
• Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to legal and industry standards.

Data Analysis & Process Improvement

• Analyze freight data and key performance indicators to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Generate regular reports for management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of freight operations.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with procurement, warehousing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration of freight activities into overall supply chain operations.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance the end-to-end logistics process.

Job Requirements / Desired skills set

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience of 5 to 6 years in freight coordination or logistics management.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, modes, and best practices.
• Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) or any other relevant software.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and act upon data.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
