Head of Biology

The College is seeking to appoint a knowledgeable andskilled teacher to be the Head of the thriving and successful Biology department. The successful applicant willtake overall responsibility for the effective running of thedepartment through their management and leadership ofa team of five teachers, whose main responsibility is to maximise student outcomes through effective teachingand the use of the school systems for tracking, monitoring and intervention. They will also spearhead the development of the subject within the College by enhancingthe broad and imaginative range of enriching extra-curricular activities already on offer including appropriatesubject enhancement activities such as work experiences, a lecture programme and hands-on projects. In additionthey will be responsible for the department’s longerterm development planning. The Head of Biology willunderstand and appreciate the broader aspects of theCollege and ensure that their department is seen as anintegral part of its daily operation.
