Operation Theater Technician

assist doctors while they use special equipment during surgeries while also helping to deliver other health care services. Prepare the operation theatre for surgery. Arrange the instruments and equipment required for a particular surgery. Clean and sterilize them before the procedure. Arrange transport of patients. Arrange wheelchairs or stretchers to transfer the patients to the operation theatre as necessary. Arrange instruments and supplies according to the surgery that is to be performed. Following infection control protocols. You will be responsible for maintaining a sterile field for operation. Ensure that there is no contamination of surgery instruments or devices. Cleaning up after the surgery. Discard disposables and clean and sterilize the equipment. Ensuring proper biomedical waste disposal. Follow standardized protocols for infected, non-infected, sharp, and hazardous waste. For instance, using color-coded disposal bags. Ensure the availability of medical and diagnostic supplies. You will have to make sure the operation theatre is well-stocked at all times. (e.g. gloves, tubes, catheters). Work effectively with other team members. You will be a part of a team that consists of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, etc. and effective coordination is a must for the smooth flow of the surgery.
