Job Description

The Nursing Manager is the key interlocutor between the nursing team, the medical director and the project manager. The Nursing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing services to ensure the delivery of the highest quality patient care possible. Nursing Manager is responsible for maintenance of clinical quality Procedures and processes and working with the Medical Director the implementation of clinical, infection control, emergency and surgical processes.

The key roles and responsibilities of the Nursing Manager is:

  • Advocate the rights and well- being of patients , ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  • Directs, oversees, and evaluates all nursing personnel (Senior nurses, Charge nurses, nurses, assistant nurses) and provides clinical leadership and guidance to Iqarus nursing and allied medical personnel.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of nursing care in alignment with the ships mission.
  • Recruitment , interviews and supervision of all nursing and allied health personnel.
  • Working with the project manager manage nursing resources efficiently including rosters and staffing levels .
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives within nursing and allied health services.
  • Conduct regular clinical audits to identify areas of improvement.
  • Coordination and integration of nursing care with other healthcare services on the ship.
  • Participates in policy decisions that affect Nursing/Patient Care Services in the project.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and training of nursing staff .
  • Working with the Medical Director develop nursing protocols for emergency, code blue, and mass casualty response.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant nursing regulations , standards and relevant licensing requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Essential minimum experience of +5 years with 3 years in a management position
  • Remain in good standing with appropriate professional regulatory body, with current license to practice.
  • Previous military and or naval experience would be an advantage
  • Computer literacy and proficiency (includes MS Word and Outlook)
  • English Fluency (reading/writing/speaking) with highly effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety standards
  • Expertise and knowledge on best practices in healthcare
  • Offshore BOSIET/HUET training mandatory entry requirements
