Converses in appropriate locationsAccepts and respects other’s colleague’s religion, profession, level of education, gender and any other differencesReports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time; uses computerized punch time system correctly.CommunicationInfection control nurse needs to keep in touch and relay information to a variety of parties. First, they issue reports to upper management of the facility. They also need to communicate and give specific instructions to specialty doctors when they are needed. Infection Control nurses typically have a good deal of contact with outside parties. For example, they might need to make contact with other facilities if they don't have enough room for new admissions, or if patients need specialized care. They are often in charge of ordering products from suppliers. Infection Control nurse also spend time communicating with patients and their families about treatment options.
Duties & Responsibilities
Handling all involved DOH, ADHICS, TASNEEF auditsCoordinates infection control activities including surveillance, proactive approaches to reduce infection risks.Have the authority to challenge inappropriate practiceReview and develop Infection Prevention and Control policy and procedure as requiredAssess the impact of all existing and new policies on infections and make recommendations for change;Identify, control and investigate outbreaks in collaboration with the Committee membersConduct Infection Control Audits on a regular basis to ensure compliance with InfectionControl best practice within the health serviceParticipate in the staff immunization and post exposure program including provision of immunization, counselling, and data managementUndertake -surveillance programs including gathering, entering, interpreting and presentation of dataStrives to maintain current knowledge, advising the committee, the organization of new and emerging infection control practicesAssist with product evaluation as appropriateDevelop annual Quality and Business plans for Infection ControlParticipate in the Quality Improvement process, including the initiation and participation in Infection Control activitiesParticipate in relevant committees/project teamsAct as a resource to provide information, resolve infections control problemsEnsure all cases of communicable diseases are reported to the appropriate authorities and maintain records.Participate effectively in the antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) committee.
Participate in the infection control risk assessment (ICRA) during any renovation, construction and demolition activities within the company.Job Type: Full-timeAbility to commute/relocate:
