Monitors patients blood pressures and informs physician of any changes from baselineMonitors the position of catheter in the heart by interpreting intracardiac pressuresRecords pressures in all chambers requested by physicianMaintains through the use of the Cardiac Cath Lab computer a complete record of all events occurring during a procedure5 .Responsible for calibrating and operating the equipment during a procedure. i.e. A-Vox, Cardiac Output, ACTInforms physician and monitoring CVT of resultsSupplies physician with equipment during procedures. i.e. catheter, wires, balloons, and stintsResponsible for all data analysis, processing data through computer and printing out all appropriate informationSets up and calibrates the intra-aortic balloon pump, sets the initial timing and fine tunes the timing with the physician once balloon is in placeMonitors the balloon pump during procedure and stays with the patient until they are in the CCU, OR, or the CSICUAssists in emergency situations by performing resuscitation measures. i.e. operating defibrillator, performing artificial resuscitation, external pacemaker, suctioning patientsReplenishes supplies in the lab as necessary and performs preventative maintenance on equipment utilizing an understanding of the mechanical workingsNotifies supervisor of any serious malfunctions and equipment shortagesResponsible for learning and applying new technology and/or procedures as they are introduced to the Cardiac Cath Lab. i.e. Flow wire, ultrasound, rotablatorAssists in cardiac catheterizations by setting up, in a sterile field, equipment and instrumentsSets up rooms for each patient by entering name, MR number, and appropriate information into the DXAssists the nursing staff by transporting patient from one area to next Disclaimer: Drjobs.ae
