The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex broadcast and IT systems in a live television or broadcast environment.

Responsibilities:

· To assist and report to Audio & Comms Manager to ensure smooth running of daily engineering operations.

· To have the ability to solve problems with minimal instruction, independent and adaptable.

· To be flexible with work time, both in the office and overseas as required.

· Conferring with producers, talents, and others to determine and achieve the desired sound for a production.

· Setting up, testing and adjusting broadcast audio equipment and de-rig equipment after event completion.

· To be able to troubleshoot electronic equipment to a system level.

· Operate, maintain, and configure Communication Equipment/ Audio infrastructure from the ground up-

o Well versed in LAWO, RTS, RF equipment and AOIP

o Able to update software and equipment to the latest version from manufacturer.

· Assisting or reporting of Audio / Comms equipment problems and ensure the equipment is repaired on time for next production.

· To introduce, adopt and train team members on latest technologies.

· To be able to direct, instruct and manage assistant engineers and possible system integrators on projects.

· To have excellent oral and written communication skills including conversational English as well as computer skills.

· To be able to draft technical reports.

· To be able to read technical (Auto CAD) engineering drawings and willing to learn.

· Any other ad-hoc duties.

Qualifications:

  • Adaptability: showing flexibility, responding well to new challenges, is open to change
  • Organization skills: ability to plan in advance with attention to details, ability to prioritize tasks when dealing with multiple deadlines, ability to remain calm and focused a dynamic environment, ability to be productive during periods of high workload and enable smooth project delivery
  • Teamwork: ability to create and maintain positive working relationship and work well with other team members, and help to improve the team environment
  • Communication: Listens well and is open to honest feedback, and able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Willingness to travel away from home regularly, sometimes for long periods.
  • Good knowledge of the principles of safety at work as applied in the TV industry.
  • Qualification (degree or diploma) and aptitude relevant to Broadcast engineering (specializing in Broadcast Engineering/Audio Engineering/IT or any other related area).
  • Understanding of Outside Broadcast systems and environment
  • Knowledge and experience of operating and troubleshooting a range of OB equipment in sound, communication, IP, and etc.
  • Experience in LAWO is an advantage
  • Minimum 6-year work experience in Outside Broadcast Environment
  • Experience with large scale events is a necessary

Candidates with less experience in project / people management and technical proficiency will be considered for Broadcast Engineer (Audio ) roles.
