3.1 Does & adheres to operating room attire according to policy and procedure.3.2 Prepares room and assembles instruments & equipment based on patient’s surgical needs.3.3 Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique.3.4 Correctly identifies patient and surgical site.3.5 Checks thoroughly the pre-operative checklist of patient; including completion of required diagnostic &laboratory procedures3.6 Monitors patients’ vital signs in the pre-operative area and post-operative recovery room3.7 Positions patient with the use of positional aids, maintaining circulatory, respiratory, neuromuscularhomeostasis while maintaining privacy and providing maximum exposure to the operative procedure3.8 Demonstrates skill in performing the duties of scrub nurse and circulating nurse3.9 Provides safety to patient, to self & the whole surgical team by adopting safety protocols like ‘Time Out’.Counts Surgical items audibly, and views items concurrently with another individual when counting, andrecognizes that one of the individuals performing the count should be the RN circulator.3.11 Recognizes that, when possible, surgical counts during a procedure should be performed by the same twoindividuals.3.12 Verifies correct recording of the surgical counts of soft goods, sharps, miscellaneous items, and items placed inthe wound in a location that is visible to the surgical team (e.g., the white count board).3.13 Implements correct practices for the prevention of infection, practicing strict aseptic technique & maintenanceof sterile field.3.14 Assist the surgeon and anesthetist during the operation and ensure appropriate handling of the specimenobtained during surgery.3.15 Organize patient transportation from the OT to the recovery room and carry-out and/or supervise all thepostoperative activities to prepare the OT for the next scheduled operation or emergency.3.16 Implement the hygiene, sterilization, asepsis and disinfection protocols and procedures at all times, before,during and after operations, to ensure the safety conditions of patients and staff.3.17 Participate in care and maintenance of endoscopes, electrosurgical unit, microscopes, drill systems, phaccomachine, endoscopes and other specialized equipment, ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination at alltimes including accurate records of traceability of all equipment.3.18 Accurately maintain count of all surgical instruments, swabs and needles used during the surgery and ensurethat the surgical instruments are send to CSSD for cleaning and disinfection as per the policy of the hospital.3.19 Demonstrate skill in surgical hand wash and appropriate knowledge of the infection control practices pertainingto operating theatre.3.20 Competent in monitoring of patients post anesthesia.3.21 Ensure that patients recovering from anesthesia receive optimum care and is able to demonstrate completeknowledge in the usage of Aldrete scoring.3.22 Maintains confidentiality of patient’s records and updates all relevant patient documentation / medical recordsas per hospital policy and procedure.3.23 Demonstrates competence in Cardio – Pulmonary Resuscitation technique3.24 Strictly adheres to the waste segregation and disposal as per hospital policy3.25 Responsible for checking of crash carts and emergency equipment’s as per hospital policy.Responsible for appropriate storage and maintaining inventory of medications including high alert medicationsand narcotics as per hospital policy3.27 Responsible for appropriate storage and maintaining inventory of Hazmat items including the MSDS as perhospital policy3.28 Follows the reporting mechanisms /chain of command in the Nursing Department. Issues are correctly andquickly reported. These include all patient care issues.3.29 Demonstrates an economical approach to the utilization of equipment’s and supplies while assisting the chargenurse to maintain an appropriate ward stock3.30 Takes responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Charge Nurse as assigned3.31 Demonstrates sound knowledge and participates in fire safety, patient safety, infection control and the othernecessary precautions as per hospital policy.3.32 Takes responsibility for professional clinical practice and is actively involved in updating and continuingeducation.3.33 Participates as a member of the code black team as per hospital policy3.34 Demonstrates strict adherence to all hospital policies and procedures3.35 Performs any other assigned responsibilities as identified by the Charge Nurse / Supervisor / NursingAdministrator.3.36 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospitalmanagement to comply those requirements3.37 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities3.38 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures3.39 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of riskassessments, incident reports3.40 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies3.41 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs3.42 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems4.1Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing.4.2 Current license in country of origin and with HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAEMinimum 2 years nursing experience after qualification.4.4 BLS and ACLS provider4.5 Good English spoken & written; Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essentialYou must create an Indeed account before continuing to the company website to ap NMC Healthcare is the largest private healthcare company in the UAE and ranks amongst the leading fertility service providers in the world.
