Job DescriptionWindows Specialist with Linux exposure to join our global team of highly skilled system administrators in our rapidly expanding Dubai office.To be eligible for this role you must be skilled in Windows Server administration including IIS Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange. Experience with Microsoft Unified Communication server would be beneficial.Company is predominantly Linux based operation so some handson Linux experience is essential for this role.You WILL be working on Linux in this role at least some of the time but your focus will be as the primary Windows Specialist.ResponsibilitiesMonitoring administration and maintenance of multiple systemsResolving customer issuesTroubleshooting and resolving software errors and hardware faultsResearching evaluating new equipment & systemsNetwork management and maintenance. E.g. switching VLANs routingWindows and Linux Server AdministrationAfter hours shared response to faults on callGeneral DocumentationRequired SkillsEXCELLENT Windows server administration skills and strong linux administration skillsMicrosoft Active Directory: clustering administration maintenanceUnderstanding of networking and protocolsHigh Availability/Load Balanced conceptsWeb/Mail servers: ApacheIIS Exim QmailFirewall technologies and conceptsStrong time management skillsAbility to work within a globally distributed teamAbility to prioritize and work on multiple tasksExcellent written and verbal skillsBeneficial SkillsExperience in a web/application/domain hosting or cloud services environmentScripting: PowerShell or at least one of PHP SQL bash/shell or PerlSAN storage knowledge/experience (iscsi/NFS/CIFS)Dell hardware configuration and managementVMWare ESX/ESXi/vSphereVirtuozzo/openvzYou must have good communication skills and a sense of humour is huge plus.Qualifications/certificates in relevant areas may work in your favour but arent essential
