This role involves overseeing all marketing and communications efforts to promote MBZUAI's mission, values, and achievements effectively.Lead digital marketing initiatives, manage public relations activities, and ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.Key Responsibilities:1- Develop and Implement Marketing and Communications Strategy:Create a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with MBZUAI's mission, vision, and strategic goals.Identify the key messages that need to be communicated to the public and other stakeholders.Identify the key audiences that MBZUAI needs to reach. This could include potential students, partners, donors, the media, and the general public.Develop a strategic plan for marketing and communications. This plan will outline the key messages, target audiences, communication channels, and specific tactics that will be used.2- Oversee Marketing Materials and Brand Management:Responsible for overseeing the creation and distribution of all marketing materials, ensuring they align with MBZUAI's brand image and messaging.As a guardian of the MBZUAI brand, ensure that all marketing and communication materials adhere to the brand guidelines in terms of tone, style, and visual identity.Oversee the creation of all marketing materials. This includes working with designers, copywriters, and other team members to produce materials that effectively communicate the brand's message and engage the target audience.Oversee the distribution of marketing materials. This involves choosing the most effective channels for reaching the target audience, whether that's through direct mail, email marketing, social media, or other methods.3- Lead Public Relations and Media Strategies:Vice President of Marketing and Communications will lead the development and execution of public relations and media strategies.Collaborate to establish and nurture relationships with key media outlets. This involves identifying relevant media outlets, initiating contact with journalists and editors, and maintaining ongoing communication.In charge of coordinating media coverage for MBZUAI. This involves pitching story ideas to journalists, arranging interviews with MBZUAI representatives, and providing journalists with the necessary information to cover MBZUAI accurately.4- Develop and Manage Marketing and Communications Budget:Responsible for developing and managing the marketing and communications department budget.Forecasting the costs associated with the department's activities. This involves estimating the expenses for various activities such as advertising campaigns, public relations efforts, marketing materials production, events, and staff salaries.5- Collaborate with Senior Leadership:Serve as a key advisor to the senior leadership team on communication matters. This includes guiding the most effective ways to communicate complex ideas, the best methods to engage different audiences, and utilizing various communication channels for maximum impact.Work closely with leaders from different departments to ensure that their communication efforts align with the organization's overall strategy and messaging, creating a unified voice for MBZUAI.Academic QualificationMaster’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.Professional ExperienceA minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in a senior marketing and communications management role, preferably in the AI or tech industry.Demonstrated success in creating and executing marketing and communications strategies.Strong leadership abilities, capable of effectively managing and motivating a team.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in current digital marketing trends.Collaborative approach to working with a variety of stakeholders.Experience in analyzing market trends and customer insights to drive strategic marketing decisions.Proven ability to oversee the development of marketing campaigns across various channels.Familiarity with data analytics and metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI.Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and implement agile marketing strategies.Strong project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and budget constraints.PreferredA Doctoral Degree or Ph.D. in marketing, business administration, or a related field.Prior experience in the education sector, particularly in higher education or technology-related fields.Experience in international or global marketing is valuable.
