Responsible for the study and preparation of site development plans including the earthwork calculations as well as the preparation of the BoQs related to the earthworks (excavation and backfill) under the direction of the Lead Civil / Structural EngineerResponsible of the Design of underground networks (storm water, sanitary water, oily water etc.)Responsible for ensuring that all assigned activities are carried out within the stipulated man-hour budgets and time schedulesAssist in the preparation of project related standards and job notes on assigned projectsPerform engineering design calculations and prepares design sketches as required on assigned projectsReview, comment on and approves drawings related to his field of activityReview and comment on supplier and other discipline drawingsAttend progress meetings and assists in the preparation of project progress reportsAdvise supervising engineer of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action and any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groupsAssist in the preparation of contract requisitions and schedules of quantity for Underground Utilities work on assigned projectsLiaise with construction personnel and addresses site queries during constructionPerform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the lead or supervising Civil EngineerPerform all assigned work to agreed standards for safety, health environment and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performanceParticipate in and advice on all design activities and initiatives, including provision of training / inductions and documentation reviewVerify that all designs are to required standards, that the objectives of the project are met and that the works is completed to the agreed scheduleQUALIFICATIONSDegree in Civil Engineering10 years' minimum industrial experienceExperience in High Sour Gas projects is preferredMembership of a professional body and Chartered Engineer is highly desired. This should also include a demonstration of ongoing commitment to that body through Continuous Professional development (CPD)The candidate will have considerable experience in Civil Engineering, especially in the Oil and Gas industryThe candidate must be experienced in EPC organizations in the field of Engineering Design / FEED projects in all aspects of Civil and Structural activitiesCandidate will be fully familiar with terminology used and adopted in the Oil and Gas businessCandidate will have a range of technical abilities, from the use of engineering and design software such as STAADPro / GTSTRUDL, through to understanding of topographical, geophysical and geotechnical issuesThe candidate shall be conversant and comfortable in engineering with any materials normally understood and used by civil and structural engineersThe successful candidate can bring, at appropriate times, innovation to the engineering process from their background Disclaimer: Drjobs.ae
