How you can make your markMake your mark as a Senior Structural Engineer at Boskalis Offshore Energy and work on prestigious and challenging offshore projects In this role, you will be part of the Global Engineering department at the Boskalis Offshore Energy division in Papendrecht. The department is responsible for verifying the strength of vessels in the fleet, designing temporary structures, and providing technical support to various business units within the division. These projects often involve complex tasks in the sustainable energy and oil & gas sectors, including offshore wind farms and oil platforms. We utilize state-of-the-art equipment that meets the highest quality and safety standards.Your responsibilities as a Senior Structural Engineer:
Prepare reports with design and verification calculations within Scope, Budget, and Schedule.Develop various design concepts and provide advice on suitable solutions.Verify drawings to ensure alignment with engineering specifications.Initiate and document engineering best practices and standards.Act as the primary contact during construction and fabrication.Manage design and verification activities at subcontractor engineering firms.Mentor Medior and Junior Engineers.
Your Typical Deliverables:Sea fastening analyses, Global Hull Analyses, Lifting point verification, Global strength verifications of vessels, Jackets and Topsides, On Bottom Stability analyses, Strongpoint verifications, Deck load diagrams, etc.Your qualities and experience:To excel as a Senior Structural Engineer, you should have:
Recognized MSc or BSc Degree in Marine, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.10+ years of experience in Offshore engineering.Practical Offshore experience.Extensive knowledge of Class rules for vessels (LR, BV, ABS), offshore structures (DNV, API), and Operational guidelines (DNVGL).Ability to write Basis of Design, Design Briefs, and specifications.Strong insight into constructability.Proficiency in at least 2 FEA packages, preferably ANSYS, FEMAP, RFEM, and Mathcad.Good command of spoken English and academic reporting skills.
