Key Responsibilities
1 PPF Pattern Cutting amp Installation using Digital Cutting Plotter SystemsOperate digital plotter cutting systems e g Graphtec Summa or equivalent to generate precise PPF patterns from the manufacturer s vehicle pattern database or custom-digitized templates Import edit and calibrate pattern files software such as Gubernacular Wrap-Cut PPF cutting software or similar to match specific vehicle makes models and trims Perform test cuts and pattern verification prior to full-panel cutting to minimize material waste and rework Digitize new or unavailable vehicle patterns manually when a pre-cut pattern doesn t exist using plotter software tracing tools Maintain and calibrate the plotter cutting machine blade depth pressure settings tracking accuracy for consistent clean cuts Troubleshoot basic plotter software errors and coordinate with suppliers IT for technical issues2 Surface PreparationThoroughly clean and decontaminate vehicle panels clay bar IPA wipe-down degreasing prior to installation Inspect panels for pre-existing damage swirl marks or defects and document report findings before starting work Mask sensitive areas trims sensors badges emblems as required3 Film ApplicationApply pre-cut PPF sections using wet or dry application methods as appropriate to the film type and panel geometry Use squeegees heat guns and precision tools to eliminate bubbles wrinkles and edge lifting Tuck and wrap edges mirrors door handles complex curves using knifeless tape or approved trimming techniques for a factory-finish edge Perform post-install quality checks including edge adhesion film clarity and surface finish4 Quality Control amp FinishingConduct final inspection under proper lighting to identify and correct any imperfections before vehicle handover Ensure work aligns with manufacturer compliance standards where applicable Maintain installation records photos for each vehicle for QA and warranty documentation5 Workshop amp Inventory ManagementMaintain cutting tools blades plotter machine and workstation in clean calibrated working condition Track PPF roll inventory and usage report stock levels and reordering needs Follow all workplace health amp safety protocols blade handling chemical use equipment operationRequired Skills amp CompetenciesStrong hands-on skill with digital cutting plotter systems and PPF-specific cutting softwareExcellent precision patience and attention to detailStrong spatial pattern visualization for complex panel curvesWorking knowledge of PPF film types TPU TPH gloss matte satin self-healing films Basic computer literacy for pattern file management and software navigationAbility to read and interpret vehicle pattern databasesGood manual dexterity and physical stamina standing bending reaching for extended periods Strong hands-on skill with digital cutting/plotter systems and PPF-specific cutting software Excellent precision, patience, and attention to detail Strong spatial/pattern visualization for complex panel curves Working knowledge of PPF film types (TPU/TPH, gloss/matte/satin, self-healing films) Basic computer literacy for pattern file management and software navigation Ability to read and interpret vehicle pattern databases Good manual dexterity and physical stamina (standing, bending, reaching for extended periods)
