Gender: Any Candidate Nationality: Any Job Type: Full-timeRole ContextThe Control Room Operator is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient process conditions across assigned plant units while ensuring products meet required specifications and production quantities.
The position continuously monitors control panels, instruments, operating parameters, alarms, and equipment status and takes timely action when process conditions deviate from approved limits. The role directly affects plant safety, product quality, production continuity, hydrocarbon loss prevention, emissions performance, and overall unit efficiency. Accurate shift handover, disciplined operating practices, and effective coordination with field operators, maintenance teams, contractors, and neighboring units are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate assigned process units in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures and company operating standards.
Monitor process conditions continuously through control panels and the Integrated Control System.
Maintain operating parameters within approved limits for pressure, temperature, flow, level, and equipment performance. Adjust process variables as required during normal operation, start-up, shutdown, upset conditions, and emergencies.
Maximize plant yield while ensuring products remain within required specifications.
Support safe storage and export of processed products.
Record operating incidents and discuss abnormal events with the Shift Supervisor to support safe and efficient plant operation.
Conduct or supervise routine equipment checks and identify abnormal operating conditions.
Initiate maintenance notifications when equipment defects or abnormal conditions require inspection, servicing, or repair.
Prepare plant systems and equipment for maintenance activities in accordance with approved isolation and safety procedures.
Verify that maintenance preparation does not adversely affect connected equipment or operating units.
Operate related machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor plant instruments and take readings to confirm equipment remains within specified operating parameters.
Diagnose abnormal process conditions from panel indications, alarms, trends, and field information.
Implement operational adjustments promptly to stabilize plant performance. Maintain continuous communication with field operators and other plant units during abnormal operating conditions.
Utilize Integrated Control System functionality to improve process safety, product quality, plant efficiency, and operational visibility.
Authorize work permits within the limits of assigned authority.
Monitor ongoing maintenance and contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and operating requirements.
Follow up work permit activities until completion and safe return of equipment to service.
Control and contain plant upsets to prevent escalation into more serious operational or safety events.
Coordinate response activities with other departments, operating units, company sites, and neighboring plants.
Carry out emergency duties as Auxiliary Fireman or Site Safety Officer when assigned under the Facility Response Plan.
Ensure chemicals used in the operating area meet required specifications and operating requirements.
Prepare chemical solutions and add chemicals according to approved procedures.
Adjust and monitor chemical dosing rates to maintain process performance and product quality.
Follow HSE requirements when handling, preparing, and dosing chemicals.
Complete integrity functional tests, equipment changeover routines, and scheduled verification activities.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for completed opera
