Role Context

The Islamic Education Teacher will deliver structured learning to students from different linguistic backgrounds, requiring distinct approaches for native Arabic speakers and students studying through the non-native stream. The position therefore demands both strong subject competence and the ability to communicate concepts accurately in Arabic and English. The teacher will create an inclusive environment where students can develop subject understanding, engage thoughtfully with Islamic values and apply learning appropriately within their academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver Islamic Education lessons for native and non-native student groups.
  • Adapt lesson content and instructional methods according to students ' language proficiency and learning requirements.
  • Deliver subject concepts clearly and accurately in Arabic and English where appropriate.
  • Develop students ' understanding of Islamic values, principles and curriculum content.
  • Create age-appropriate lessons that encourage participation, reflection and meaningful discussion.
  • Differentiate activities to accommodate varying levels of subject knowledge and language competence.
  • Establish clear learning objectives and maintain appropriate curriculum progression.
  • Use formative assessment to identify misconceptions and determine areas requiring reinforcement.
  • Conduct summative assessments in accordance with school curriculum expectations.
  • Track student attainment and use assessment evidence to improve subsequent teaching.
  • Provide constructive feedback that supports both subject understanding and academic progress.
  • Prepare appropriate learning resources for native and non-native streams.
  • Maintain a respectful classroom culture that supports thoughtful engagement with Islamic Education.
  • Apply effective classroom management and establish consistent behavioural expectations.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues on planning, assessment and curriculum development.
  • Communicate student progress effectively to parents and relevant school colleagues.
  • Contribute to appropriate school activities connected with Islamic values, culture and student development.
  • Support inclusive education by ensuring students from different linguistic backgrounds can access learning successfully.
