THE ORGANIZATION

You can take pride knowing that you will be working with the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists, and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry – a vital energy and material resource. The Technical and Professional Activities (TPA) team is the driving force behind SPE's technical content, professional development initiatives, and industry knowledge exchange. Working closely with volunteer subject matter experts and staff worldwide, the team transforms technical expertise into high-impact programs, publications, certifications, standards, and frameworks that advance the energy industry and create value for members.

Through initiatives such as SPE Certification, Technical Sections, training courses, and knowledge-sharing programs, TPA promotes lifelong learning, technical competency, and industry best practices. These efforts help ensure SPE remains a trusted global source of technical expertise while strengthening member engagement, expanding industry impact, and supporting sustainable organizational growth.
