Position Overview

The Learning and Development Specialist in Dubai is a retail hiring opportunity focused on planning, coordinating, monitoring, and improving employee learning across store and regional operations. The role supports business priorities by translating development needs into structured learning plans, managing training delivery, maintaining compliance records, and helping employees build the skills required for stronger performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business priorities, performance requirements, and training needs into annual, quarterly, and monthly learning plans.
  • Align learning calendars with regional priorities, store requirements, and agreed service level commitments.
  • Communicate training schedules, learning pathways, deadlines, and participation requirements to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate classroom, virtual, blended, digital, and self‑learning programs from planning through completion.
  • Confirm the availability of facilitators, buddies, subject matter experts, venues, systems, and learning materials.
  • Maintain an active pool of qualified facilitators and workplace learning buddies.
  • Support the delivery of mandatory, compliance, behavioral, operational, and brand‑specific training.
  • Track learning participation, completion, assessment, and certification through approved learning management systems.
  • Maintain accurate employee learning records, attendance information, certification data, and compliance evidence.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly learning dashboards within agreed reporting timelines.
  • Monitor completion rates, overdue training, certification gaps, and service level performance.
  • Follow up with managers and employees to improve learning attendance and completion.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of learning data before reporting.
  • Support learning engagement campaigns, employee communications, and social learning activities.
  • Promote participation through clear messaging, reminders, manager engagement, and practical learning support.
  • Encourage a positive learning culture aligned with company values and retail ways of working.
  • Act as a learning consultant for line managers, HR business partners, facilitators, and subject matter experts.
  • Help managers identify development needs and connect employees with suitable learning solutions.
  • Support performance review cycles, individual development plans, onboarding, and other key people processes.
  • Gather feedback from learners, facilitators, and managers to evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Identify delivery challenges, recurring learning gaps, and opportunities to improve coordination.
  • Share successful practices, lessons learned, and performance insights with regional learning stakeholders.
  • Contribute to regional learning projects, retail capability initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure learning resources and communications remain current, accessible, and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Manage multiple learning activities while responding positively to changing priorities in a busy retail environment.

Ideal Profile

  • Diploma, Higher Diploma, or equivalent vocational qualification in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Learning and Development, Human Resources, training coordination, or a people support position.
  • Previous experience in a retail, store, hospitality, customer service, or operational environment is preferred.
  • Practical experience coordinating learning calendars, training sessions, facilitators, participants, and completion records.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems and digital learning tools.
  • Ability to track training participation, certifications, compliance requirements, and development activities accurately.
  • Strong organizational and planning capability with reliable follow‑up skills.
  • Comfortable managing several priorities, deadlines, stakeholders, and learning programs at the same time.
  • Clear written a
