Lab Engineer – Ready Mix Concrete

Looking for an experienced Lab Engineer – Ready Mix Concrete to join our newly established ready-mix concrete plant in Jebel Ali, Dubai. The candidate will be responsible for managing laboratory activities, concrete quality control, testing, mix design, quality documentation and ensuring compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements and applicable concrete standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day activities of the ready-mix concrete laboratory.
- Conduct and supervise testing of fresh and hardened concrete.
- Carry out slump, temperature, density, cube strength and other required concrete tests.
- Prepare and maintain concrete mix designs and trial mixes.
- Monitor raw materials including cement, GGBS, aggregates, admixtures and other concrete materials.
- Check incoming raw materials and maintain relevant test certificates and records.
- Monitor concrete production and ensure compliance with approved mix designs.
- Review concrete test results and prepare laboratory reports.
- Maintain cube casting, curing and compressive-strength testing records.
- Coordinate with site teams, production, dispatchers, consultants and clients regarding concrete quality requirements.
- Investigate quality issues and assist in corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration records and testing documentation.
- Ensure laboratory records are properly maintained and available for inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements, relevant ASTM/BS/EN standards and company quality procedures.
- Support the company's Dubai Municipality ready-mix plant certification and inspection requirements.
- Supervise and guide laboratory technicians.
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories whenever required.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly laboratory/QC reports.
- Ensure proper sampling, identification, curing and testing of concrete specimens.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits, consultants and authority inspections. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction or related field.
- Dubai Municipality approval/certification/registration relevant to Ready-Mix Concrete Laboratory is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in ready-mix concrete / concrete laboratory operations.
- Strong practical knowledge of concrete testing and quality control.
- Experience with ready-mix concrete plant laboratory operations is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Dubai Municipality requirements for ready-mix concrete plants.
- Good knowledge of concrete mix design, trial mixes and material testing.
- Knowledge of ASTM, BS, EN or equivalent concrete testing standards.
- Experience in handling laboratory technicians and maintaining laboratory records.
- Good computer skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Office.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
- Immediate joiners or candidates available on short notice are preferred. Pay: AED1,993.15
- AED6,000.00 per month License/Certification:
