Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC machines according to engineering drawings, job specifications, and production requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, machining tolerances, dimensions, and work instructions.
- Set machine parameters, offsets, tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds to achieve accurate and efficient machining.
- Work confidently with Siemens and Hitachi PLC systems, including basic operation, monitoring, fault identification, and troubleshooting.
- Perform CNC machine programming, editing, and adjustments as required.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Identify machining defects, machine faults, and process issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance, tool changes, lubrication, and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment and follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Record production information, inspection results, machine issues, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other production team members to improve machining processes and productivity. Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Setter, or CNC Operator.
- Practical experience with Siemens and Hitachi PLC-controlled CNC machinery.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, tooling selection, and machine setup.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Technical qualification or relevant machining experience is preferred. ## Desired Candidate Profile Working Conditions The role involves working in a manufacturing/industrial environment and may require shift work, overtime, and standing for extended periods.
