We are looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer with an engineering background and strong knowledge of construction procurement. The candidate should have hands-on experience in UAE villa and high-rise building projects, with the ability to manage the complete procurement process from material requirements and supplier sourcing to quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase orders, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, tools, and subcontracted works.
- Review BOQs, drawings, specifications, material submittals, and project requirements to identify procurement needs.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Planning, QA/QC, and commercial teams to understand project requirements.
- Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations) to approved suppliers and subcontractors.
- Obtain, evaluate, and compare technical and commercial quotations.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Prepare material comparison sheets, purchase orders, and procurement reports for management approval.
- Ensure materials are procured within the approved budget and according to project specifications.
- Source suitable suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining a reliable supplier database.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to project sites.
- Coordinate with site teams regarding material delivery schedules, quantities, and urgent requirements.
- Verify that procured materials meet approved specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and engineering teams for material approvals and technical compliance.
- Track long-lead materials and take necessary action to avoid delays to project activities.
- Maintain proper records of quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and procurement correspondence.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Monitor market prices and maintain good relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delays, shortages, quality problems, and discrepancies.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements, and applicable UAE regulations.
- Prepare regular procurement status reports and highlight potential delays or risks to management. Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer in the UAE construction industry.
- Strong experience in villa and high-rise building projects.
- Good knowledge of construction materials, building products, MEP-related materials, finishing materials, and site requirements.
- Strong understanding of BOQs, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, coordination, and supplier-management skills.
- Good knowledge of UAE suppliers, subcontractors, construction materials, and market conditions.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and procurement/ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple procurement requirements, and meet project deadlines.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills with attention to cost, quality, and delivery. Pay: Up to AED20,000.00 per month Work
