NOW HIRING – INTERIOR DESIGN DIRECTOR
- DESIGN CONSULTANCY Our client is an established international design consultancy based in Dubai, with a strong portfolio across hospitality, residential, workplace, retail and cultural projects. The Position We are looking for an experienced Interior Design Director to lead the interior design function, set the creative direction and maintain high design standards across a range of projects. The role will combine creative leadership with client management, team development and the operational running of the interiors department.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary interior design team, providing creative direction, mentoring and support.
- Set the design vision and strategy for the interiors department and ensure consistency across projects.
- Lead interior projects from concept and detailed design through FF&E and site delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, operators, brand partners and key stakeholders.
- Present design concepts, material palettes and design strategies to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with architecture, landscape, MEP and other disciplines to deliver fully integrated design solutions.
- Review and maintain high standards across drawings, specifications, FF&E and design documentation.
- Manage team resources, project workloads and departmental budgets.
- Oversee QA/QC processes, including material samples, mock-ups and contractor submissions.
- Support bids, proposals, marketing and business development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve design processes, introduce new ideas and strengthen the department's market position.
- Lead performance reviews and support the recruitment and development of interior design talent.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related discipline.
- 15+ years' experience within interior design or interior architecture.
- Strong portfolio across sectors such as hospitality, residential, workplace, retail or cultural projects.
- Proven experience leading and developing interior design teams.
- Strong client-facing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate design concepts and influence key stakeholders.
- Experience managing design budgets, resources and project delivery.
- Strong understanding of FF&E, materials, specifications and interior design QA/QC.
- Experience working collaboratively with architectural, engineering and other design disciplines.
- Professional accreditation or membership of an internationally recognised design or architectural body would be advantageous.
