Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, responsible, and customer-oriented Kitchen Equipment Sales Consultant / Commercial Kitchen Installer to handle the sales, delivery, installation, testing, and after-sales support of commercial kitchen equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong product knowledge, practical installation skills, good communication abilities, and a hands-on approach to ensure equipment is properly supplied, installed, tested, and maintained according to customer and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell commercial kitchen equipment, appliances, stainless steel fixtures, refrigeration equipment, cooking equipment, food preparation equipment, and related accessories.
- Identify customer needs and recommend suitable equipment based on kitchen layout, business type, capacity, budget, and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with restaurants, hotels, cafes, catering companies, food outlets, and other commercial customers.
- Conduct customer consultations and site visits to assess kitchen space, equipment requirements, access conditions, and installation requirements.
- Prepare quotations, product proposals, equipment specifications, sales orders, and project documentation.
- Explain product features, functions, operating procedures, maintenance requirements, energy usage, and warranty terms to customers.
- Follow up on quotations, customer enquiries, orders, deliveries, installations, and after-sales service.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and actively develop new customer accounts and business opportunities.
- Coordinate the delivery and installation schedule with customers, suppliers, warehouse staff, contractors, and project teams.
- Install, assemble, position, connect, and commission commercial kitchen equipment according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Install and set up equipment such as commercial ovens, cookers, fryers, grills, steamers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, sinks, preparation equipment, and stainless steel fixtures.
- Read and understand basic kitchen layout drawings, equipment schedules, measurements, technical specifications, and installation manuals.
- Check equipment dimensions, access routes, positioning, electrical connections, water supply, drainage, ventilation, and other site requirements before installation.
- Carry out equipment testing and commissioning after installation to ensure proper operation and performance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, adjustments, servicing, and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment.
- Identify and report equipment damage, installation problems, technical faults, missing parts, and site issues.
- Ensure the correct equipment models, specifications, quantities, accessories, and components are supplied and installed for each project.
- Maintain accurate sales records, quotations, installation reports, service records, equipment lists, warranty information, and customer details.
- Coordinate with designers, contractors, architects, suppliers, technicians, delivery teams, and customers throughout project execution.
- Provide customers and kitchen staff with basic training on equipment operation, cleaning, maintenance, and safe usage.
- Ensure installation tools, equipment, materials, and work areas are clean, organized, and safely maintained.
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling electrical, gas, water, mechanical, refrigeration, and heavy kitchen equipment.
- Maintain adequate stock of installation tools, spare parts, fittings, accessories, and consumable materials.
- Handle customer complaints, technical enquiries, warranty claims, and after-sales service professionally.
- Monitor project progress, installation quality, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and completion deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales performance, installation efficiency, service quality, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction. Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Equipment Sales Consultant, Commercial Kitchen Installer, Commercial Kitchen Technician, Kitchen Equipment Sales Representative, Foodservice Equipment Technician, or similar role.
- Experience in commercial kitchen equipment, restaurant equipment, hospitality, catering, foodservice, construction, or related industries would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of commercial cooking, refrigeration, food preparation, dishwashing, ventilation, and stainless steel kitchen equipment.
- Hands-on experience installing, assembling, connecting, testing, and commissioning commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings, kitchen layouts, equipment specifications, measurements, and installation manuals.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, gas, ventilation, mechanical, and refrigeration systems would be an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and practical technical skills.
- Good sales, negotiation, presentation, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate equipment and practical solutions.
- Strong attention to detail when measuring, positioning, installing, testing, and inspecting equipment.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple sales, installation, and service projects.
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting, carrying, moving, and installing heavy commercial kitchen equipment safely.
- Reliable, responsible, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced sales and installation environment.
- Good computer skills and ability to prepare quotations, reports, sales records, and project documentation.
- Relevant technical, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, engineering, or foodservice equipment certification would be an advantage.
- Valid driving licence would be an advantage for customer site visits, equipment delivery, and installation work.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, or extended hours when required.
- Fluent English required; additional languages would be an advantage.
