SAP Finance & Accounts Executive
Reports to :- Finance & Accounts Manager
Level :- Executive / Senior Accounts Assistant
System :- SAP
- strong hands-on experience mandatory Purpose of the Role To support the Finance & Accounts Manager by ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately verified, entered and maintained in SAP on a timely basis. This is a highly hands-on role. The person will spend most of the working day directly on SAP, checking source documents, posting transactions, reconciling accounts and ensuring that information in the system is complete and correct.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Transaction Processing
- Enter and post day-to-day accounting transactions directly into SAP.
- Process supplier invoices, purchase-related entries, payments, receipts, journal entries, debit notes and credit notes.
- Ensure correct GL account, cost centre, profit centre, tax code and other SAP coding before posting.
- Verify transactions against approved supporting documents before entry.
- Check that SAP entries agree with invoices, purchase orders, goods receipts, bank documents and approvals.
- Correct posting errors and follow up on incomplete or incorrect transactions.
- Maintain proper document references and attachments within SAP wherever applicable. Accounts Payable & Vendor Verification
- Verify supplier invoices against PO, GRN and invoice before posting.
- Check quantities, rates, taxes and approved commercial terms.
- Identify duplicate invoices or payments.
- Maintain accurate vendor accounts and clear open items.
- Prepare supplier reconciliations and investigate differences.
- Assist in preparing payment batches for approval by the Finance & Accounts Manager. Bank, Cash & Receivables
- Post bank receipts and payments in SAP.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Record and reconcile customer receipts.
- Monitor unidentified receipts and outstanding entries.
- Assist with petty cash and cash-account reconciliation where required. General Ledger & Reconciliations
- Post approved journals and accounting adjustments.
- Reconcile key balance-sheet and control accounts.
- Review open items and aged balances.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Ensure transactions are posted into the correct accounting period.
- Support schedules for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other accounts. Transaction Verification & Controls
- Check every transaction for:
- supporting documentation
- approval
- correct amount
- correct supplier/customer
- correct SAP coding
- correct tax treatment
- duplicate posting/payment risks
- Immediately highlight discrepancies to the Finance & Accounts Manager.
- Maintain complete supporting records for audit purposes.
- Follow the company's approval matrix and financial controls at all times. SAP Requirement Strong hands-on SAP experience is mandatory. The candidate should be able to work independently in SAP and should not require basic SAP training. Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience in:
- SAP FI
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- General Ledger
- Bank accounting
- Vendor/customer reconciliations
- Journal entries
- Cost centre and GL coding
- Month-end closing
- SAP MM/FI integration, particularly PO-GRN-Invoice matching Recruitment note: The interview should include a practical SAP test rather than relying only on the candidate's CV. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree / diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
- Approximately 3-7 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years working extensively on SAP.
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting.
- Good Excel skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, trading, logistics, infrastructure or project environment would be advantageous. Candidate Profile

- Fast and accurate with high-volume transaction entry.
- Strong at detecting errors and discrepancies.
- Comfortable checking other people's documentation before posting.
- Disciplined about supporting documents and approvals.
- Numerically strong and highly organised.

- Willing to question transactions that do not have adequate support or approval. This is not a managerial position. It is intended for a strong SAP operator who takes responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the company's day-to-day financial transactions. Key Performance Measures
