Larustic is an Emirati oud house. We make dukhoon, perfume and room scent, and the objects they live in: hand-carved midkhans, wooden boxes, perfume packaging, and gift sets people keep long after the fragrance is gone.
We're looking for someone who can take one of those objects from a sketch on paper to a file a factory can build from, and make sure it stays beautiful at every step in between.
What you'll actually do
- Turn concepts and mood boards into 3D models, then into production drawings with dimensions, materials and finishes. A workshop should be able to quote and build from them without calling you five times.
- Design perfume boxes and gift packaging that open well, hold the bottle properly, and feel like a gift before anyone sees what's inside.
- Design wooden pieces (midkhans, boxes, organisers) that can be carved, turned or CNC'd without losing the detail.
- Render products and gift sets for approvals, launches and the website, at a level where nobody asks to wait for the photoshoot.
- Solve the practical problems: a burner that holds hot charcoal and still sits safely on a majlis floor, a lid that still fits after lacquer, a box that survives shipping.
- Place artwork and patterns onto real surfaces (etched, embossed, printed, inlaid) and brief the supplier on exactly how.
- Check samples against your drawings and push back on the factory when something's off.
- Hit dates. We launch around Ramadan, Eid and a full event calendar, and none of those move. What you bring
- Creativity that doesn't run dry. We don't need the tenth version of a box everyone has already seen. Bring the idea nobody asked for yet, then make it buildable.
- 3+ years designing products, perfume boxes and wooden items, with work that was actually manufactured, not just rendered
- Autodesk 3ds Max (V-Ray / Corona / D5)
- Autodesk Maya
- KeyShot
- Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- A working knowledge of how things get made: CNC, wood turning, carving, rigid box making, printing and finishing
- An eye that notices when a proportion is 2 mm off, and the patience to fix it
- Happy in a fast-paced team.
- Clear English. Arabic is a plus.
- Based in the UAE or ready to relocate Even better if you have
- AutoCAD, Rhino or Fusion 360 for technical drawings
- Experience with luxury or heritage brands
- A feel for Gulf craft (sadu, palm weaving, traditional forms) and how to make it feel current rather than costume In your portfolio, show us one project from start to finish: the first sketch, the model, the technical drawing, the render, and a photo of the finished piece. That one page will tell us more than the rest of your CV. *Full-time
