- Execute comprehensive financial statement audits for government projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Plan and perform risk assessments to identify key financial and operational risks specific to government projects and their unique funding mechanisms.
- Develop and execute audit programs, including testing internal controls over financial reporting and substantive testing of account balances.
- Analyze complex financial data and documentation to detect fraud, errors, and non-compliance with grant agreements or contractual obligations. ## Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial auditing, with a significant focus on government projects or public sector entities.
- Demonstrated expertise in government accounting principles (e.g., GASB) and federal/state regulations (e.g., OMB Circulars).
