Environment Management (Non-Production)
Role purpose
We are looking for an experienced engineers to own the end-to-end management of bank's non
- production estate. The role is accountable for the availability, configuration integrity and production alignment of every non-prod environment — System Integration (SIT), User Acceptance (UAT), Performance, Pre-Production/Staging, Training and Demo — across all digital and core banking programmes. DevOps, Infrastructure and vendor partners. Production alignment and drift control
• Drive and coordinate synchronisation between non-production and production — application versions, configuration, interface contracts, reference and parameter data, certificates, entitlements and infrastructure topology.
• Maintain a documented production-parity baseline per environment, with a deliberate, approved record of every known deviation (scaled-down capacity, stubbed third parties, disabled jobs) so teams understand the limits of any test result.
• Define and report an environment drift metric; run scheduled drift assessments and drive remediation before major test phases.
• Work with Release Management and Change to ensure production changes, emergency fixes and vendor patches are reflected in the relevant non-prod environments on a defined lag, with the lag itself agreed and visible.
• Ensure integration points (core banking, payments, middleware, third-party and fintech partners) are represented consistently across environments, with clear ownership of connectivity, credentials and certificate renewals.
• Track and publish utilisation and idle-time metrics, and use them to inform right-sizing, consolidation and capacity investment cases.
• Integrate the booking view with existing tooling (ADO, pipelines, ITSM, monitoring) so status is reflected automatically rather than maintained by hand.
• Agreed, repeatable refresh calendar met consistently, with validated post-refresh sign-off.
• Reduction in environment drift against the production-parity baseline, with all remaining deviations documented and approved.
• Clash escalations resolved within agreed timelines, with a downward trend in recurring root causes. Work Experience 7-10Years
