JOB TITLE Art Podcast Producer — Audio Storytelling & Cultural Conversations ABOUT THE JOB De Art is looking for an Art Podcast Producer to develop and produce engaging audio content focused on visual arts, artists, exhibitions, creative practices, and contemporary cultural conversations. The role combines editorial thinking, storytelling, research, interview production, and audio production. You will help transform De Art's editorial and cultural expertise into compelling podcast episodes and other audio formats for an audience interested in art, artists, and visual culture. The ideal candidate is curious, organized, culturally aware, and comfortable working with artists and creative professionals while managing the complete production process from concept to publication. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop concepts and episode ideas around visual arts, artists, exhibitions, movements, and cultural topics.
- Research subjects, artists, institutions, and relevant background material for podcast episodes.
- Identify and approach potential guests, including artists, curators, critics, researchers, gallery professionals, and other cultural practitioners.
- Prepare interview questions, episode structures, research notes, and production briefs.
- Coordinate interviews and manage communication with podcast guests.
- Conduct or support recorded interviews and conversations.
- Shape raw interviews and recorded material into clear, engaging, and coherent episodes.
- Work with audio editors to ensure appropriate sound quality, pacing, structure, and overall listening experience.
- Write episode introductions, descriptions, titles, show notes, and supporting editorial copy.
- Coordinate podcast publishing with De Art's website and relevant digital platforms.
- Repurpose suitable podcast material into short clips, quotes, articles, social media content, and other editorial formats.
- Maintain an organized archive of recordings, transcripts, research materials, guest information, and production files.
- Ensure appropriate permissions and credits are obtained for third-party audio, music, quotations, and other materials.
- Monitor audience response and use relevant insights to improve future episodes and formats.
- Collaborate with De Art's editorial, curatorial, video, social media, and design teams. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Art History, Arts Management, Media, Journalism, Communications, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
- Strong interest in visual arts, contemporary culture, and cultural journalism.
- Excellent research, interviewing, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Strong English writing and editing abilities.
- Ability to turn complex artistic and cultural subjects into accessible and engaging conversations.
- Familiarity with podcast production workflows and audio editing tools.
- Good understanding of microphones, recording environments, basic audio quality, and post-production processes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple episodes and production deadlines.
- Comfortable communicating with artists, curators, academics, cultural professionals, and creative practitioners.
- Previous experience producing podcasts, radio programs, interviews, cultural media, or editorial audio content is an advantage.
- Experience with video, social media, transcription, or digital publishing is a plus.
