MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING/ TECHNICAL SKILLSQualifications and
Education:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Strong technical knowledge of furniture materials, construction techniques, and hardware.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and scaling.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in drafting roles in the furniture or joinery industry.
Experience with CAD+T is preferred and will be a strong advantageJOB RESPONSIBILITIESProduce detailed CAD drawings (2D/3D) for furniture items, including joinery, upholstery, and metal components.
Interpret architectural and designer sketches or concepts into manufacturing-ready drawings.
Prepare technical documentation, assembly instructions, and material with designers, engineers, and production staff to ensure drawings reflect practical manufacturing methods.
Maintain a database of all design and drawing files with proper version control.
Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and safety in prototyping by providing accurate cut lists, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and exploded views.
Conduct site measurements when necessary to support custom-built furniture projects.
