Job Description

Are you a seasoned Planning Engineer with a proven track record in driving major construction projects to successful completion? We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Planning Engineer
to join a dynamic project team in Ras Al Khaimah.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end project planning, scheduling, and control functions. You will act as a key advisor, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required scope by leveraging your expertise in advanced scheduling tools and project management principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule Development & Management:
    Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive and detailed project schedules using
    Primavera P6
    or MS Project.
  • Progress Monitoring & Control:
    Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identify variances, and recommend effective corrective actions to mitigate delays.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and present detailed weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
  • Claims & Delay Analysis:
    Assist in claims preparation, delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, and provide support for forensic planning activities.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather progress updates and ensure schedule accuracy. Align schedules across all disciplines and contractors.
  • Risk Identification:
    Proactively identify potential schedule risks and critical issues, presenting them in project meetings to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Resource & Cost Integration:
    Analyze resource and cost loading within schedules and coordinate with the cost control department to ensure alignment with the project budget.
  • Change Management:
    Maintain meticulous records of scope changes and their impact on the project schedule for contractual and commercial support.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure that all planning and scheduling standards and procedures are adhered to throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    A minimum of
    15 years of relevant experience
    in project planning and scheduling, working either as a consultant or for a main employer within the construction or infrastructure industry.
  • Software Skills:
    Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong knowledge of project management principles, scheduling techniques, and best practices.
  • Advantageous Skills:
  • Experience in delay analysis and claim support.
  • Familiarity with international contract standards (e.g., FIDIC).
  • Soft Skills:
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
