The College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular faculty position in design management in the Department of Art and Design. All positions come with a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package, which includes free housing, generous retirement contributions, and funding for annual return airfare, school tuition for dependents, and health insurance. Successful candidates are expected to assume duties in August 2026.
The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in the Bachelor of Science in Design Management degree program and should be able to teach in two or more of the following areas: creative strategy and execution, design thinking, design research, strategic storytelling, user-centered design, service design, strategic design and innovation ecosystems. A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Design Management or a related area is required, along with creative skills, digital fluency and relevant academic and professional experience.
In addition to teaching, faculty are required to mentor students, engage in scholarly activities (which can include creative work, published research or both) and participate in service activities for the college, university and community. Creative work and research are important for the department and the university. Successful candidates will not only have access to excellent research opportunities but also generous financial support from the university to develop their scholarship. Applicants should have an excellent record of teaching and scholarship from a reputable university or demonstrate the potential to develop such a record.
