UAE-based bank
to appoint an experienced
Head of Credit Risk
to lead and strengthen the bank's credit risk framework across corporate, commercial, and retail portfolios.

This is a senior leadership role with strong visibility at executive and board level, offering the opportunity to shape credit strategy in a dynamic and fast-growing market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end
    credit risk function
    , including policy, underwriting standards, portfolio management, and governance
  • Develop and implement a robust
    credit risk strategy
    aligned with the bank's growth objectives and risk appetite
  • Oversee credit approval frameworks, delegation of authority, and risk rating methodologies
  • Monitor portfolio performance, asset quality, concentration risk, and early warning indicators
  • Ensure full compliance with
    UAE Central Bank regulations
    , IFRS 9, and internal governance standards
  • Partner closely with business, finance, compliance, and senior leadership to support sustainable growth
  • Present credit risk insights and recommendations to
    Executive Management and Board Committees
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing credit risk team

Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in
    credit risk within banking
    , with significant leadership exposure
  • Proven track record as a
    Head of Credit Risk, Senior Credit Risk Leader, or similar
    role
  • Strong knowledge of
    UAE banking regulations
    and regional credit markets
  • Experience across
    corporate and commercial credit
    (retail exposure is an advantage)
  • Deep understanding of credit analysis, portfolio risk, stress testing, and risk governance
  • Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to influence at C-suite and board level
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
