Job Summary:

The Ceramic Technician supports the development, production, and testing of ceramic materials and products. This role involves preparing raw materials, operating kilns and other processing equipment, conducting quality control tests, and assisting engineers or scientists in developing new ceramic formulations and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and mix ceramic raw materials according to established formulations.
• Operate and maintain ceramic processing equipment (e.g., mixers, mills, presses, furnaces, kilns, and glazing machines).
• Monitor firing processes and adjust temperature, pressure, and time settings to achieve desired product characteristics.
• Perform physical and chemical tests on ceramic materials (e.g., density, porosity, hardness, thermal resistance).
• Record and analyze test results, maintaining accurate laboratory and production data.
• Assist in the development of new ceramic compositions, coatings, and manufacturing techniques.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory and production areas.
• Support troubleshooting and process improvement efforts in ceramic manufacturing operations.
