In this role, you will bridge the gap between data engineering and business intelligence, ensuring that the data powering our decisions is accurate, reliable, and high-performing. You will move beyond simple manual testing to build test scripts using Advanced SQL and Python, working directly with high-volume datasets in cloud and on-premise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesTest Planning & Strategy: Design, plan, and execute comprehensive data quality test cases across the entire data landscape, including Data Warehouses (DW), ETL pipelines, reports, and BI dashboards.Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain complex test scripts using Advanced SQL and Python to validate bulk data ingestion and transformation logic.Defect Management: Execute test cases, analyze discrepancies, and perform root cause analysis to pinpoint defects. Work closely with development teams to verify fixes.BI Validation: Validate data accuracy and consistency in BI reports and dashboards, ensuring they match source data and business requirements.Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.Reporting: Generate and present comprehensive test execution reports and metrics to project stakeholders to provide visibility into data quality status.Technical Skills & QualificationsCore Database Experience: Hands-on experience testing databases, specifically Amazon Redshift and Oracle.Advanced SQL: Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, aggregations, window functions) to validate logic and data integrity.Scripting: Experience using Python for data manipulation, testing bulk data, or automating data validation tasks.ETL Testing: Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and ETL workflows (Source -> Target validation).BI Testing: Experience testing business intelligence tools and validating reports/dashboards against database results.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.3 years of experience in a Data QA or Software Testing role (Junior to Mid-level).Familiarity with data validation libraries (e.g., Pandas) or test frameworks.Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
