The Charter Schools project is dedicated to public school students based in Al Ain, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Operated and managed by private education providers, our Charter Schools offer an American-based curriculum from kindergarten through to cycle three, up to Grade 11, with more grades to be introduced as students progress in their educational journey.

The Head of Faculty is responsible for providing professional leadership and management of the teaching team and students to ensure the provision of quality education and care of children is provided.

Job Description :

• To lead and manage the day to day running of all grades
• Use excellent education experience, knowledge, pedagogic and interpersonal skills to manage staff for excellent student outcomes.
• Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities.
• To develop a team culture that affirms and improves team effectiveness.
• Provide a high standard developmentally based educational program to meet the needs of children.
• To be accountable for effective teaching and learning across the section, identifying professional development and support as required for individuals and teams
• To provide a stimulating learning experience across the section.
• Continually improve the quality of service and operating systems of the relevant sections.
• To evaluate the quality of teaching and learning and take a key accountability role in the self-evaluation and development of the school including all aspects of inspection readiness
• Ensure continuity and progression across the section through agreed teaching and curriculum strategies and policies as per the schools development plan.
• Be accountable for the collation, monitoring and analysis of data to support student achievement
• Embrace innovation, technology and sustainability in delivering the objectives and key responsibilities of the role.
• Co-operate with colleagues to establish and maintain fair, consistent and positive behavior management.
• Communicate openly and professionally with parents as required, maintaining high levels of confidentiality when speaking to parents and external parties.
• Contribute to and plan after-school activities as required.
• Actively support the school partnership with the community - attending school / community events which may occasionally occur at weekends or in the evening
• To demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning/teaching and setting the expectations for others to participate in Professional Development.
• Other responsibilities as reasonably requested.

Qualifications and Experience :

• BA in Education (or similar relevant topic)
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in educational leadership roles, with a focus on teaching and learning, curriculum design, or professional development.
• Previous experience working with students whom English is not their first language
• Experience in an American curriculum would be an advantage
• Demonstrate professionalism, commitment and integrity

• Outgoing, positive and enthusiastic
• Good spoken communication skills
